The Harold Pump Foundation

The Harold Pump Foundation allocated $300,000 towards the purchase of the Varian Trilogy LiNAC, the next generation in image guided radiation therapy. This non-surgical treatment can precisely target and destroy the tumor while sparing the surrounding tissue as well as alleviate cancer symptoms. The Cancer Center will now be able to treat 50 patients per day with the Varian Trilogy LiNAC - that ’s double the current capacity!

Since its inception, the Harold Pump Foundation has contributed a total of 3.7 million to Northridge Hospital Foundation and other non-profit community charities. The money has helped the hospital purchase equipment used in diagnostics, treatment, and screening for cancer.

The 2005 purchase of the SecurView DX Workstation, the Selenia Full-Field Digital Mammography machine, and the Mammatome Breast Biopsy System have continued to keep Northridge on the cutting edge of cancer diagnostics. “Saving lives with cancer patients (depends on) early detection … Our medical staff puts a strong emphasis on having the medical technology to detect cancer at an early stage and to treat our cancer patients so they have a high percentage of recovery.” (Brian Hammel, President, Northridge Hospital)

In April 2006, with foundation support, the hospital started the ‘Screening Program for the Underprivileged.’ The hospital was able to screen over 420 patients who might otherwise go unscreened. 20 patients were diagnosed as being in the early stages of cancers, potentially saving their lives. These are the real-life results of charitable giving to the Harold Pump Foundation.

The Carole Pump Women's Center is one of the top facilities in the country for women's cancer treatment.
